With the launch of our new Digital Post solution, we are introducing a new version of the e-Boks app.
In this article, will we explain the changes and some other differences you might notice in this app.
Table of contents:
1. Mobile password or biometrics (fingerprint/facial recognition)
2. The mail is divided into different tabs
1. Mobile password or biometrics (fingerprint/facial recognition)
In the new version (version 5) of the e-Boks app, it is required to log in with a mobile password.
This mobile password is a code of at least 8 characters that you must create yourself.
If you do not remember the mobile password, you have previously created, you can click on 'Forgot password', which is in the top right corner. After that, you will be given the option to make a new mobile password.
After signing in with your mobile password, you can choose to turn on biometric sign-in options (such as fingerprint or facial recognition, called TouchID and FaceID on iOS).
This is something we recommend our users to activate, but it is not required.
You can read more about mobile access here.
2. The mail is divided into different tabs
After the new update, the e-Boks app will remain almost unchanged.
This means that in 'Home' and 'Mail' you can still see the last mail that you received within the last 90 days. However, due to the new Digital Post solution, you will be able to see that your mail is divided into 2 sections.
- 'Mail from companies': Here you can see your mail on e-Boks, which has been sent to you by private companies, such as your bank, insurance company or other private companies.
- 'Mail from public authorities': Here you can see the mail that you receive from public authorities.
You can read more about the changes at e-Boks in this article.
3. Log in again with MitID
Based on the new public Digital Post solution and new requirements regarding security, you will be greeted by a message that you must log in again with MitID. This will ensure that you can read your mail from both private and public senders in e-Boks, as usual.
In addition, it is a requirement that you must log in with MitID to verify your user every 6 months.
Is it still possible to log in with MitID every time?
From this version of the app, it is not possible to use MitID every time you need to log in.
Instead, you must choose whether you want to log in with mobile access with your self-created code and/or biometric login methods (fingerprint/facial recognition).
