To log in to e-Boks, you need a MitID. Here's how parents can access their child's digital mail in e-Boks:
Children and young people under the age of 13 can receive digital mail in e-Boks, but they cannot access their digital mailbox because they do not have MitID.
Please note that access for young people aged 13-14 to various self-service solutions with their MitID varies depending on the specific solution. Individual self-service solutions determine whether 13-14-year-olds can log in to their platform. At e-Boks, we have chosen to allow children over 13 years of age to log in and read their mail in e-Boks.

1. How to Create Access for Children Under 13:
If your child is under 13 years old, they may still be registered with e-Boks, for example, if they receive bank statements by agreement with the bank. If this is the case, e-Boks can assist in establishing access to your child's e-Boks from the parent's own e-Boks account.
If your child has not received any mail yet, e-Boks can create an e-Boks account for them. At the same time, we can provide read access to the child's digital mailbox so that you can read the mail your child receives in the future through your own e-Boks account.
To create access to your child's e-Boks, follow the link below, complete the form, and attach relevant documentation. You will need a valid passport and a phone for this process.
You can fill out the form here
Please note! If you do not have a phone, you can get assistance with setting up MitID at the Citizen Service. Remember to schedule an appointment before visiting and bring your passport. Alternatively, you can use someone else's phone for MitID setup.

3. How to Help Your Child Aged Over 13 Get Started with e-Boks:
When your child, aged over 13, has created their e-Boks user and gained access, it's essential to establish read access for parents so they can monitor their child's e-Boks. To do this, you need to create read access from your child's new e-Boks user to the parents' e-Boks accounts.
-
Log in to your child's e-Boks.dk from a computer.
-
Go to 'Menu' (circle 1).
-
Select 'Access' (circle 2).
-
Press the 'Grant Others Access' button (circle 3).
Now you need to enter several pieces of information.
-
Enter the parent's name and CPR number.
-
Enter a password. The parent will need this password to accept the access.
-
If you wish, you can also choose an 'expiration date,' which can be entered. If you don't want an expiration date, you can simply delete the date.
-
Then press the 'Next' button.
-
Choose the rights you want the user to have and which folders should be accessible.
If the 'Reading' right is selected, you need to choose which folders the user should have access to, as shown in the yellow field in the screenshot below.
- Confirm by pressing 'OK.'
Once this is done, the parents need to log in to their own private e-Boks and confirm the access.
Follow the steps below:
-
The parent logs in to e-Boks.dk with 'MitID.'
-
On the overview, click 'Accept' in the notification about new access.
-
Enter the 'password' you selected in step 5.
-
You can choose to receive email notifications when your child receives new mail. Enable notifications by checking the box under 'Notifications' to be informed about new mail in your child's e-Boks.
-
Press 'OK.'
The access is now accepted, and you have access to both your child's and your own e-Boks.
