The Personal Data Regulation (GDPR) and Secure Processing of Data
The Personal Data Regulation focuses on citizen rights in regards to processing personal data.
e-Boks is already well established when it comes to the principles of the personal data scheme, as we have always had citizens' privacy and data security as the foundation for our core service.
e-Boks can be seen as a digital safety deposit box, where the citizen can easily and securely store everything important and private.
Processing of security number
All access mechanisms for e-Boks are using your social security number as identification, as do the senders who send you mail in e-Boks.
e-Boks only uses your social security number for logging on and in cooperation with the registered senders in order to deliver your personal mail to you. This procedure ensures that recipients of documents in e-Boks are uniquely identified.
Storage of data
The documents in e-Boks are stored at KMD in Denmark, where sensitive data about the citizens of Denmark already resides. KMD is subject to a number of restrictive legal requirements and regulations regarding the handling of citizens' personal data, and e-Boks is subject to the same strict regulations.
Only selected and authorized operating employees responsible for e-Boks' operating environment have access to data in e-Boks. There is a very limited number of trusted employees, and all of their actions are logged. Processes have been established to ensure that all employees' accesses are kept up to date. You can see at any time how we process your personal data in Terms of Use of e-Boks and our Privacy Policy.
